What classroom management model (or models) appeals to you as you begin your pre-service teaching? What factors contribute to your preference?

Before reading these chapters, I definitely thought that I would prefer to have medium control in my classroom. I like for students to have a say, but they also need to realize that I am still the teacher, and that, in the end, I would have the final say. After the readings though I have definitely changed my mind. I would now like to try and be a low control teacher. I feel that this method helps students develop their own intrinsic motivation, and let's students make the changes that they would like to see. Students have the ability to recognize an unproductive chaotic classroom, and by letting the students figure it out by themselves, they realize that all the students must cooperate for this to work.
I think it's important that the teacher help the students make these decisions. By giving the students safe choices, and asking them questions that they wouldn't ask themselves can help make the students make the right decisions in your classroom.
